Bryan Light Steam Tractor

Bryan

The Bryan Harvester Co. was based in Peru, Indiana and produced two different models of steam tractor during the 1920s. The water used to produce steam was heated using kerosene and steam pressures of up to 1200 psi were attained. Unlike with traction engines, there was none of the mess associated with solid fuels and working steam pressures could be reached within minutes rather than hours. However, farmers had already settled on gas tractors as the way forward and the steam tractor was soon consigned to the history books.
